Aston Martin-DB2

Aston Martin DB2 is a classic British sports car that was produced between 1950 and 1953 by Aston Martin, the iconic British car manufacturer. The DB2 was the first production car to feature the famous Aston Martin grille and was the first of the iconic DB series of sports cars.

The DB2 was designed by Robert Eberan-Eberhorst, an Austrian engineer who had previously worked on the pre-war BMW 328 and had also designed the Aston Martin 2-Litre Sports. The DB2 was the first Aston Martin to feature a six-cylinder engine and was initially powered by a 2.6-litre, twin-cam, straight-six engine. The engine was capable of producing 105bhp and was mated to a four-speed manual transmission.

The DB2 was a two-door, four-seater sports car with a sleek, low-slung design. The car featured a long, low bonnet and a short rear end, which gave the car a very distinctive look. The car also featured a unique aerodynamic design, which was designed to reduce drag and improve fuel economy.

The DB2 was a popular car in its day and was raced in many events, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car was also used in the James Bond film Goldfinger, which featured a modified DB2 with a Vantage engine.

The DB2 was replaced in 1953 by the DB2/4, which featured a larger, 2.9-litre engine. The DB2/4 was the first Aston Martin to feature the now-iconic DB grille. The DB2/4 was followed by the DB MkIII in 1957 and the DB4 in 1958.

Today, the Aston Martin DB2 is a highly sought-after classic car, with many examples fetching high prices at auctions. The DB2 is a true classic sports car and is a reminder of a golden era of British motoring. The car is a symbol of luxury and performance and is a testament to the craftsmanship of the British car industry.
