Bristol Fighter (1994-2003)

The Bristol Fighter was a British-made two-seat, twin-engined fighter aircraft that was produced from 1994 to 2003. It was the first aircraft to be designed and built by the Bristol Aircraft Company since the Second World War. The Bristol Fighter was designed to be a multi-role aircraft, capable of performing ground attack, reconnaissance, and air superiority missions. It was powered by two Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Adour turbofan engines, and had a maximum speed of Mach 1.3.

The Bristol Fighter was designed to be a highly manoeuvrable aircraft, with a large wing area and a low wing loading. This allowed it to perform tight turns and high-speed manoeuvres, making it well suited for air-to-air combat. It was also equipped with an advanced avionics suite, which included a head-up display, a radar warning receiver, and a forward-looking infrared camera. The aircraft was also equipped with a variety of weapons, including air-to-air missiles, rockets, bombs, and a 30 mm cannon.

The Bristol Fighter entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1994 and was used in the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. It was also used by the United Arab Emirates Air Force, which acquired 16 of the aircraft in 1996. The UAE used the aircraft in a variety of roles, including air defence, close air support, and reconnaissance. The UAE Air Force also operated the aircraft in support of coalition forces during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

The Bristol Fighter was also exported to a number of other countries, including India, Oman, and South Africa. The aircraft has since been retired from service in most countries, but it is still in use by the UAE Air Force.
